Joel the song bird.

Have I mentioned that Joel LOVES to sing?! It is seriously the cutest thing. When Nama was in town she taught Joel and Vance the primary song "Jesus Once Was a Little Child" and they love to sing it with me. Every week Joel comes home singing another snippet of a primary song he learned at church. I am always amazed at how well he remembers them. He usually remembers just enough for me to know which song he's singing. He also loves to sing songs he hears on the radio (which means I have to be A LOT more selective about what we listen to in the car). I do have to laugh every time I hear him singing "Break your heart" by Taio or "Hey Soul Sister" by Train. He was even singing a Black Eyed Peas song today for Vance. He cracks me up. Sometimes when I'm getting ready to sing to him before bed he'll sing me a song first and will tell me "That ones for you mommy." It is SO sweet.

Today he was telling me about a song and was AMAZED that I knew it. All he could remember was treat them kindly. I actually had my camera handy and he was willing to perform so here's a rare sighting of the Joel song bird. (The song is "Jesus Said Love Everyone", the words are almost perfect but the melody is a little off.)

More Pictures of the Boys

Here are a few pictures of the boys from the end of our trip to Sacramento. I don't know why but that day it was nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get a good picture of them. You lose some, you lose some.

Vance on the tractor.
(Warning Tangent!!! If you notice Vance is not wearing any shoes. I cannot get the boys to wear shoes at the park for the life of me. It COMPLETELY grosses me out. But what can I do?! So I figure they'll only have to get some disgusting foot disease and have their feet amputated once before they learn their lesson. Maybe they'll get lucky and only lose one foot. lol)

Joel pausing.
(Notice no shoes!)

This is like the 4th attempt at me trying to get a picture.
He wouldn't stop talking!!!!
(I have NO idea where he gets that characteristic from.)
Little Vance.

The funny thing was that a few days after we got home Vance asked if we could go back to this park. I had to tell him that we would not be going back to that park for a LONG time. (6 hours for a play date is a bit much. lol) Although it was SO fun to meet up with my friend Julie and meet her adorable little boy. So we will go back again sometime just because the company was so fun!

Shameless Scentsy Plug

So I've debated and debated about doing this post. But I'm going to plug my newest endeavor with shameless abandon because as I've said before if you can't do it on your own blog where can you?!

Have you heard about Scentsy?! I love these things. If you haven't seen and better yet SMELLED them you're missing out! You can visit my website: www.meltmyworldtoo.scentsy.com If you haven't been introduced to Scentsy let me explain it in a nutshell: they're warmers that use a light bulb to melt scented wax. There are over 80 scents (my favorite are Cinnamon Bear and Honey Pear Cider) that come in bars, sprays, car tins and scent circles. And just this season they've also come out with Scentsy Buddies, these use a scent pack zippered into a plush animal to freshen up a room, and Fragrance Foam- no alcohol hand sanitizer. So if you're interested head over to my website where you can conveniently place an order that will be shipped directly to you.

And now to our regularly scheduled blogging.

When Pa's in Sacramento we'll travel.

So Tj's dad had to work in Sacramento again. So he invited us (the boys and I) to come up to see him and Sacramento. So after a grueling drive we visited with Pa and had dinner at The Tower Cafe. The service was less than ideal but the meal was delicious! I had a chicken sandwich that was SO good.

Today we went to the California State Railroad Museum. After the Museum we met Pa for lunch and then got a tour of his latest job site. It was a fun day. Here are the pictures from today.

The following pictures were taken at the boys favorite part of the museum-
the Thomas the Train tables.

And We're Settled- kind of.

So we're in our new place. It was a fairly painless process except for the 20 or so items that didn't make it from Florida. We'll see how easy the claim and replacement process is. But we're settled and are enjoying our new place. We have had to get a little creative since we had to downgrade from a 3 bedroom to a 2 bedroom (thank you CA). But it's a nice little place and we're glad to be here for the next two years. The boys are enjoying rediscovering all their toys and just having a place to play. It has been such a stress reducer to just have them have a place of their own! And I will admit I am LOVING having my craft stuff back (which is why this blog post may or may not have been delayed). Unfortunately our card table (which I use for a sewing table) is one of the things that was lost during the move so I haven't been able to do my sewing but all in good time.

Then after we got moved in the kids and Tj all got colds/allergies/viruses. We have finally recovered and decided to go out and enjoy the sights that aren't too far from our house.

Joel, Vance and Mommy on the trail.

Vance taking a break- bringing up his blood sugar.
He was having a few melt downs during our adventure.
Luckily the way back was less whiny.

Don't stare at the wildlife while they're eating.

And no adventure would be complete
without a little rock climbing.
